Medhelan is the ancient name of Milan, near which the collaboration between Doriano Di Domenico and Matteo Generani, the two founders, was born and developed.

The choice of this name expresses the project’s deep connection to Italian territory and to its ancient and extraordinary history.

The Medhelan Project aims, in particular, to promote Italian music, with a special focus on rediscovering the work of great, yet often overlooked, composers of the past, championing lesser-known repertoire, and promoting contemporary music.

The Project is carried specially by the founders - as the Medhelan Duo - who also collaborate with with other artists creating other ensembles.
